A short manifesto

I don't just design products, websites, apps, brand guides, etc.

I marry human psychology, a start-up mindset, and a fascination for technology to drive towards purpose. Together with multi-disciplinary teams I create holistic solutions (both online and offline) that meet real human needs and unlock business (and societal) value.

This means I typically play the role of Chief Design Officer, Head of Customer Experience & Insights, Head of Product, Marketing Director, and Head of Change Management — sometimes all within the same day.

From financial health to employee wellness and B2B relationships in the construction industry, my breadth of experience across Africa, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East continues to shape my unique perspective.

Beyond the world of design (albeit intimately related), I also make food, music, and nurture a backlog of ideas that I believe have the potential to change the world.

Reinventing a long-established retailer into a fit-for-future digital wellness business that strives to touch the lives of millions of people across the world, including:

▶︎ Conducting quantitative and qualitative consumer research and experiments across 3 continents

▶︎ Defining the core value proposition for consumers, employers, and wellness partners alike

▶︎ Designing the end-to-end consumer experience across web, app, and physical stores

 

Exhibit B: Finance

Developing a combined digital/human future planning service to empower individuals to get started with investing so that they can achieve their goals, including:

▶︎ Shaping the vision for the end-to-end customer proposition, informed by qualitative customer research and quick online experiments

▶︎ Building “full stack” design capability and implementing true agile ways of working to launch the MVP iteration

▶︎ Calibrating an institution-wide tone of voice that simultaneously informs and empowers customers to make their own decisions

Building a new, independent (and income-generating) digital business for a traditional construction player in less than 3 months, including:

▶︎ Shaping the ecosystem value proposition for various partners and suppliers

▶︎ Overseeing product design and development of the digital e-commerce platform

▶︎ Envisioning the business’ strategic potential and developing the longer-term product roadmap
